Marlène Huissoud is a designer who views her creative approach as experimental. Her work oscillates between art and design. She graduated from the Central Saint Martins’ School of Art and Design in London in 2014. Her diploma project From Insects explored the utilisation of materials coming from insects ranging from honey bees to Indian silkworms. Her works both verify and challenge the existing approaches towards natural resources. As a designer, she puts value not only on the outcome, she also values the overall concept. Since her graduation she has been amassing awards. Her diploma project won her the Diploma Selection Award at the Prague Designblok 2014, she was nominated for the famed Design Parade in Villa Noailles 2015. Marlène was named the Most Innovative Experimental Artist of the year 2018 by AI Global Excellence Award and she also won the AI Business Excellence Awards – Most Innovative Design Studio London – 2018. Her works have been exhibited in the major institutions such as Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Centre Pompidou in Paris, Komore New York, Design Miami Basel, Design Museum Barcelona, Artipelag Museum Stockholm, Design Days Dubaï, Rossana Orlandi Milan, MAK Vienna.
Marlene is now based between London and Paris.
