N\u00e1zov projektu vych\u00e1dza z dekon\u0161trukcie tradi\u010dnej anglickej svadobnej b\u00e1sne (\u201eSomething old, something new, something borrowed, something blue\u2026\u201c), ktor\u00e1 ritu\u00e1lne sprev\u00e1dza nevestu pri prechode do novej \u017eivotnej etapy. Autorka t\u00fato metaforu pren\u00e1\u0161a do premeny identity dizajn\u00e9ra v \u010dase environment\u00e1lnych a soci\u00e1lnych kr\u00edz. Op\u00fa\u0161\u0165a il\u00faziu line\u00e1rneho progresu, technokratick\u00e9 n\u00e1nosy a od\u013eud\u0161\u0165uj\u00facu ma\u0161in\u00e9riu. Trojicu \u201estar\u00e9ho, po\u017ei\u010dan\u00e9ho a modr\u00e9ho\u201c nech\u00e1va za sebou a dop\u013a\u0148a nov\u00fd, \u0161iesty element \u2013 Something True \u2013 nie\u010do skuto\u010dn\u00e9 a od\u017eit\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imerz\u00edvna in\u0161tal\u00e1cia sp\u00e1ja chladn\u00fa 3D tla\u010d s najsubt\u00edlnej\u0161\u00edm z\u00e1bleskom \u013eudskosti: dychom. Akt v\u00fddychu o\u017eivuje hmotu, nar\u00fa\u0161a chladn\u00fa produktivitu technol\u00f3gi\u00ed a otv\u00e1ra nov\u00fa citlivos\u0165. V duchu nov\u00e9ho materializmu dielo spochyb\u0148uje nadraden\u00fa poz\u00edciu \u010dloveka a namiesto roly dominantn\u00e9ho \u201erie\u0161ite\u013ea probl\u00e9mov\u201c pon\u00faka zranite\u013en\u00e9ho sprievodcu, ktor\u00fd h\u013ead\u00e1 dial\u00f3g zalo\u017een\u00fd na auton\u00f3mii objektov a responz\u00edvnosti materi\u00e1lu. Atmosf\u00e9ru dotv\u00e1ra autorsk\u00e9 video so synchr\u00f3nnou ambientnou zvukovou stopou, ktor\u00e1 sp\u00e1ja mechanick\u00fd pulz s rytmom dychu a v\u0165ahuje div\u00e1ka do vlastnej katarzie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Petra Ryb\u00e1nska: Something New, Something True, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project\u2019s title draws upon the deconstruction of the traditional English wedding rhyme („Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue\u2026“), which ritually accompanies a bride as she transitions into a new stage of life. The artist transposes this metaphor onto the transformation of the designer\u2019s identity amidst environmental and social crises. She abandons the illusion of linear progress, technocratic accretions, and dehumanizing machinery. Leaving behind the trio of „old, borrowed, and blue,“ she introduces a new, sixth element\u2014 „Something True\u201c\u2014representing something authentic and lived-through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The immersive installation fuses cold 3D printing with the most subtle spark of humanity: breath. The act of exhaling animates matter, disrupts the cold productivity of technology, and opens up a new sensibility. In the spirit of new materialism, the work challenges humanity\u2019s position of superiority; rather than the role of a dominant „problem-solver,“ it offers the figure of a vulnerable companion seeking a dialogue grounded in the autonomy of objects and the responsiveness of material. The atmosphere is completed by an author’s video with a synchronous ambient soundtrack that combines a mechanical pulse with the rhythm of breathing and draws the viewer into their own catharsis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
