I spent time
in my hometown, in Prešov, with my parents, which I perceived
as an opportunity to realize where I come from and who I am. Through
everyday situations I began to recognize the simplicity and beauty
of ordinary moments.

I started these ordinary everyday events and conversations
to record them in writing, but also with a dictaphone. Quantity
of written text in narrative form I compiled into a more than three hundred-page
book volume. The project includes a short non-fiction film about design
which was created as a video recording of a dinner party. The camera captures the view
from the kitchen window, the sound is also recorded in real time. My
original intention was to use a different sound track in the video, but
that's what made it possible to create the authentic dialogue that's part of the
of the non-fiction film.

With this project I am trying to talk about the design of everyday objects
and express their value through the everyday situations they are
they are a part of.

I present the project in order not to show a specific form
of the product, but to point out its value. The form of presentation is therefore
is subtle and as little concrete as possible. The non-fiction film is screened on
the wall of the room and the text is printed on transparent foils tied
into a bundle. The illegibility of the text without its own background and the projected
video footage offers an intangible value to the viewer. It gives the viewer
space for their own ideas, memories, associations connected not only
with everyday objects, but also with life, without which he would be
any design unnecessary.

The project expresses itself in a specific audiovisual form,
which was not my original goal, but later on this form proved to be ideal for achieving my goal. Working on my bachelor's project in this unusual situation helped to push my boundaries of expression in the field of design

The presentation is part of the research and educational project KEGA - Studio Art Design in the Context of Cultural and Economic Structures No. 006VŠVU-4/2018 - Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava

Artistic annotation:

"Unacted movie" about design, 12:46min., book form

In these days we found ourselves in situation, which push me to
think about design and myself differently. I've spent my time with my
parents, in my hometown of Prešov, which gave me the possibility to
think about my roots and who I am. Thanks to everyday situations,
I started to recognize the beauty of everyday moments.

I started to record and take notes of these everyday situations and
talks. I created more than 300 pages book form of this amount of
writings and notes in local dialect. Another part of this project is
short "Unacted movie" about design which records one supper (eve-
ning). Camera shows the view from kitchen window and same as
dialogue was recorded in real time. My original idea was to replace di-
alogs (audio) in final movie with another dialogues recorded previously.
This allowed me to record very authentic dialogues which I decided to
use in final version of "Unacted movie".

Through this project I try to talk about design of everyday's items and
celebrate its value through standard situations of everyday's life.

Aim of this project is not to show the real form of the product, but
point out its value. That's why the form of presentation is unmaterial
and not specific at least. "Unacted movie" is projected on the wall and
text is printed on transparent foils which create book form. This text,
which is impossible to read without some solid background and pro-
jected videorecord offers the viewer the unmaterial value. This gives
the viewer the space for his/her own imaginations, memories, associa-
tions connected not only to everyday objects, but also to life, without
which would be without any design useless.

This project communicate topic in specific audiovisual form, which
wasn't my original idea, but later I found that this form is ideal to
achieve my aim. Working on my bachelor thesis in this uncommon
situation, help me to push my boundaries of expression in territory
of design.

Art annotation: non-fiction film about design, 12:46min, book volume.
