The intention in the work is to evoke an emotional experience through the object and direct physical contact with it. Communication through touch is the most natural communication for humans since birth. The inspiration and starting point is the relationship between mother and child and their communication based initially on physical touch. Already in the prenatal period, but especially in the first days and weeks after birth, both baby and mother most intensely perceive their surroundings and each other through their skin. Any touch from the mother (stroking, nurturing in her arms, hugging, etc.) is strongly perceived and emotionally satisfying by the baby.

In the mother also under the influence of hormones (oxytocin) there is a rush of positive emotions, expression of joy and love. We experience sensation through touch on a daily basis and often we are not aware of it and do not feel the moment. In my objects I use haptic, visual or sound attractions to engage the visitor and 'make' them touch the object, try it out and interact with it. The combination of stimuli for multiple senses should further intensify the experience of using the object. I created three objects for the session, each with a different character. The sewn fabric covers are filled with different fillings and the whole objects can be twisted like long cylinders into a 'U' and tied with a string. However, the object is slightly flexible and shape-adaptable to the user's needs. The possibility of sitting/lying on the bag is therefore unlimited. The double layer organza body-coloured bag is meant to be intimate and cosy, evoking the envelopment of the baby in the warmth of the mother's belly. The polystyrene ball filling is soft, adaptable and mouldable. The white fur pouch is designed to simulate the stroking of an animal's fur, evoking the soothing sensations associated with the act of petting an animal. The silver bag -wrapped with a foam cylinder- is also intended to act as a visual attraction, the draping of the fabric and the play with light reflecting off the object can bring a better experience to the user.
