OPEN CALL: Hugo Raýman – PAP 20

What happens when a painter decides to create a porcelain product?

The modern and clean design transforms into an action-packed creation with materials that are commonly used in ceramics as packaging material rather than as a decorative element.

The PAP 20 cup collection responds to the current overproduction and the pressure to create perfect and uniform shapes that are the easiest to mass produce.

PAP 20 is a limited collection created with a different approach. It is an experimental collection that uses cardboard to create a model, from which a plaster mold is subsequently created for casting porcelain.

The collection from the beginning is based on the idea that product creation can still be a game and a fun activity, not just thinking about pre-determined industrial perfection.

Small series give authors and users a unique opportunity to explore an alternative approach and experiment with materials that mass production cannot offer.

PAP 20

What happens when a painter decides to create a porcelain product? A modern and clean design transforms into action creation using materials that are commonly used in ceramics rather as packaging material.

The collection of mugs called PAP 20 responds to current overproduction and the pressure for perfect and uniform shapes, which are the easiest for mass production.

PAP 20 is a limited collection created with the opposite approach. It is an experimental collection that uses cardboard to create a model, which is then used to make a plaster mold for casting porcelain.

From the very beginning, the collection is based on the idea that product creation can still be about play and fun, not just about contemplating predetermined industrial perfection.

Small series give both creators and users a unique opportunity to explore an alternative approach and experiment with material that mass production simply cannot offer.
