It is possible to conjure up exotic lively tropical gardens even in the harsh climate of Central Europe. Ľubomír Bút, the owner of the But Evergreen Garden company, was one of the first to create them in Slovakia, 15 years ago. Many types and families of plants expanded to north and south from the equator where they adapted and now are able to handle even heavy frosts. Those lands became home for strong plants called “hardy tropicals” that we create our gardens with. To its owners, that kind of garden is like a souvenir from a far journey. To design and then create them brings joy to us, too.
