Objekty boxov vznikli ako jednoduchá odpoveď na otázku zmysluplného využitia odpadu v dielni die Werkstatt. Použitým materiálom sú kúsky borovicovej preglejky – tu i tam celistvé formáty, inokedy úplne malé odrezky. Spájaním do požadovaného rozmeru a jednoduchej formy prezentovaného boxu vytvárajú vtipný patchwork kresby a náhodnej nadväznosti. Steny boxu sa v rohoch zoštíhľujú, skutočná hrúbka preglejky vizuálne mizne a vzájomný kontakt stien sa minimalizuje v prospech celkového dojmu výraznej dyhy. Zvýraznenie kresby farebným morením je ďalším krokom, ktorým sa pôvodné kúsky preglejok definitívne sceľujú v novej forme. Box sa stáva stolíkom, sedením, podstavcom alebo ostáva jednoduchou hmotou v priestore. Môže a nemusí mať úložný priestor. Jeho kubická hmota pôsobí a odznieva v priestore podľa potreby. Je to len box, ktorého časti boli donedávna stolárskym odpadom, odrezkami z iných pracovných zadaní.
The box objects were created as a simple answer to the meaningful reuse of workshop waste at die Werkstatt. The material used consists of pieces of pine plywood—here full-sized sheets, there tiny offcuts. Joined together into the required dimensions and simple shape of the presented box, they create a witty patchwork of wood grain and random continuity. The walls of the box taper at the corners; the actual thickness of the plywood visually disappears, minimizing the contact between walls to emphasize the overall impression of a striking veneer. Highlighting the grain with colorful wood stain is the next step that definitively unifies the original plywood pieces into a new form. The box becomes a side table, seating, a pedestal, or simply remains a volume in space. It may or may not include storage. Its cubic mass asserts itself or recedes into the background as needed. It’s just a box, made from parts that until recently were joinery waste and offcuts from other projects.
